The amount of air pressure required for the following purposes: paint atomization, starting up and operating spray equipment.
(1) The air pressure required to activate air-driven equipment, such as automatic spray guns and pumps.
(2) With respect to compressors, operation pressure is defined as the pressure that is required to activate pressure control systems, such as unloaders and pressure switches.
The fluid pressure generated by a pump as a fluid is pumped and expelled. In other words, the fluid pressure, as measured at the outlet of the pump.
In reality, the maximum output pressure is defined as the pump outlet pressure present when the maximum permissible air pressure or other type of maximum permissible working pressure is applied, under conditions in which the output is blocked (with zero output).
Units: Kpa, MPa
The phenomenon in which sprayed paint particles do not adhere to the coating object, but spatter elsewhere, either bouncing back from the coating surface or being blown away from the coating object by air currents.
Synonym: Overmist
